Dr. Kesha A. Henry has a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from Purdue University and has worked and studied internationally for several years. She has completed her Associate of Science, and Bachelor’s Degree in her native country Jamaica, after which she migrated to the United States where she completed her Master’s Degree at North Carolina A&T State University, one of the top Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) located in Greensboro, North Carolina. Following that she went on to the highly ranked Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana where she successfully completed her Doctoral Degree. She has worked at several universities (University of Minnesota- Twin Cities, Prairie View A&M University, Calumet College of St Joseph, Purdue University Northwest….) across the US where she served in various teaching, research, administrative and leadership/executive roles. Her experience studying and working abroad gives her in-depth knowledge and unique perspective on issues related to international students in higher education, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and many more. She has helped in the development and implementation of multiple study abroad programs and advised and assisted students in successfully applying and enrolling in various universities across the US. She has served as Adjunct Professor at various institutions and has taught multiple undergraduate and graduate level courses including Sociocultural Issues in Education, Communicating Across Culture, Measurement and Evaluation/Qualitative and Quantitative Research, External Research Fund Development (PhD level Student Grant Writing Course), Master’s Seminar, Child Development, Human Diversity, Multicultural Education, Educational Psychology, Introduction to Higher Education, Student Teaching Elementary/Secondary, Principles of Adult Education, Agriculture/Science Education, and Environmental Science . Currently she serves as a Visiting Lecturer and Research Development Officer in the College of Education and Human Development at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. In addition to her extensive (over 20 years of experience) teaching, research, leadership, and outreach experience in higher education and governmental agencies, she has expertise in grant writing and consulting and has served as a Principal Investigator (PI)/CoPI in securing over 7.5 million dollars in grant funding. She also serves as a reviewer on annual grant review panels and have reviewed, edited, developed, and contributed to over 100 million dollars in grant proposal development and submissions to various funding agencies such as the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), (The National Institutes of Health (NIH), The United States Department of Education, and The National Science Foundation (NSF). Dr. Henry has developed, organized, lead, and presented at multiple large and small conferences, seminars and workshops. During her spare time she enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her family. She has traveled extensively to Europe, North America and Africa. Her favorite city for vacation is Paris but also loves vacationing in her native Caribbean island, Jamaica.
